Overview
Revvy is an AI-powered voice assistant built for amateur track drivers. It provides real-time guidance on racing lines, braking, cornering, and acceleration to help users improve lap performance. Post-session, Revvy delivers video-based analysis with personalized feedback on driving errors and improvement areas.
Revvy delivers real-time AI voice guidance on braking, turning, and acceleration, offers post-race performance analysis, and features a 3D interactive model with track-specific AI feedback—all designed to help amateur drivers improve lap times and racing technique.
Fueled by the excitement of Formula 1 and immersive racing games, motorsport has seen a surge in popularity among younger enthusiasts. More than ever, aspiring drivers are eager to take their passion from the screen to the real track.
Amateur drivers often lack access to real-time coaching, struggle to interpret data, and find it difficult to improve without expert guidance—creating a gap between interest and skill development.

User Research
In order to better understand what our users' needs are, we did some user interviews and summarized their pain points and expectations based on this information.
To get a broader perspective, I decided to interview people at track driving—from beginners to Experienced Driver. I want to hear about how can a track driving product support them in track driving.

Prototype
We experimented with a number of different AI speech models, and ended up using GPT as our development prototype, and based our existing prototype on its model.

VUI Prototype
To create the VUI prototype, We integrated the GPT-4o real-time API into Spline, enabling functional interactions with animated elements. We trained the AI with fundamental track knowledge and safety awareness to provide accurate and helpful answers to user queries.

Set Up
We set up a user testing environment where participants drive an in-game vehicle using a steering wheel simulator, interacting with Revvy's real-time guidance to simulates an actual driving experience. The goal is to evaluate how Revvy impacts drivers' situational awareness, emotional response, and ability to balance receiving information with staying focused and engaged in the racing simulation.

Future Plans
There is still a lot of room for improvement in Revvy, so we've put together a list of points that we hope will give us the opportunity in the future to make Revvy a truly useful tool for novice racers.
